2000 BOYS BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

Tim Buckley scored 19 points, including a three-pointer with 1:58 left in the game to give Serra High a 51-48 win over Independence in the Central Coast Section Division I title game.  Buckley finished the night hitting 7-of-8 field goals.
Independence had a chance to tie the score, but Padre defense prevented the 76ers from getting off a good shot.  Jason Hardee added 12 points for Serra.  John Woody led Independence with 17 points. Alex Cruz added 15 points, and Virgil Snyder tallied 14 more.
