2002 CCS GIRLS BASKETBALL PLAYOFFS--DIVISION V
Sarah Thornton's basket with 26 seconds left helped Redwood Christian seal its 49-46 win over Eastside Prep to claim its second straight Central Coast Section Division V title. Thornton was the top rebounder for the Eagles, grabbing 12 boards. Angela Thompson contributed 19 points and 11 rebounds. Jennifer DeBone added nine rebounds. Eastside's Markisha Coleman led all scorers with 23 points. Chantelle Brown added 18 points. The two helped spearhead a furious comeback. Down by seven points, Eastside tied the score with 4:00 left in the game. But a three-point play by Thompson with 3:14 left in the game gave the Eagles the lead for good.
