2001 BOYS BASKETBALL PLAYOFFS--DIVISION I
Jayson Obazuaye scored 22 points
and Taj Stone added another 18 points as Andrew Hill High School claimed its
first ever Central Coast Section basketball title, taking the Boys� Division I
crown with a 68-58 win over Bellarmine. Obazuaye converted a 3-point play with
3:41 left in the game to give the Falcons a 58-52 lead. Bellarmine�s Jason
Norman, who led all scorer with 23 points, followed with a bucket with 3:28 left
to pull the Bells to within four. The game would not get any closer. The Falcons
sealed the win, sinking eight straight free throws in the final 1:43. Hill�s
Jamaal Kimble added 14 points, including a jump shot with 52 seconds left to
help ice the game. J.B. Long contributed 13 points for Bellarmine.
