CHAMPIONSHIP GAME HIGHLIGHTS

North Salinas High School scored the first 14 points of the third quarter to break open a close game, en route to a 69-52 win over St. Francis to claim the Central Coast Section Division 2 Boys title.
The 14-0 run covered the first three minutes of the third quarter, giving the Vikings (27-2) a 46-26 lead with 4:54 left in the third quarter. St. Francis (21-8) rallied, but could never cut the deficit to single digits.
Ferni Garza and Marcell Harris each scored 18 points to lead North Salinas. Jamar Smith added 14 points and Stuart Kelly finished with 11 points.
Chase Lyman paced the Lancers with 11 points.
The win gave the Vikings their third section, but first since the five-division format came to being.
