during the CCS Play-offs. The CCS Commissioner and/or staff have sole
authority to schedule or cancel sites, as well as full discretion as to the
assignment or re-assignment of teams to times and sites throughout the CCS
Play-offs. The CCS Commissioner and/or staff have the final authority in
any disputes over sites or times of play, and the decision of the CCS
Commissioner is not subject to appeal, due to the immediacy of running the
Tournament for the good of the whole. Neutral sites are not a policy of
the CCS and should not be expected in any rounds of play. Sites will
be assigned by the CCS for the good of the Tournament.
SCOREBOOK:
The higher-seeded team's scorebook shall be considered
the official game book, unless the game umpires arrange otherwise prior to the
start of the game.
HOME TEAM: For complete rules, see CCS Baseball Bylaws: Section 9.
LOCKER ROOMS:
All coaches should check
in with the host site director or coach. Coaches and team members using
locker facilities should NOT assume that there will be "full time"
supervision of these facilities during Tournament play. In view of this
fact, it is incumbent upon each team to make their own arrangements for
safeguarding their personnel's valuables.
TEAM
ROSTERS:
Team rosters are due on or before MAY 1ST, in
order to be included in the Tournament program. This year, the CCS
Baseball Tournament programs are being printed by an outside contractor. Coaches are strongly
encouraged to submit rosters on-line to "Section
Sports," at the following e-mail address: justin@sectionsports.com.
PARKING:
A.
PLEASE NOTE: Host schools for 1st-Round games may NOT charge for
parking.
B. Washington Park
and SJ-PAL Field are not
currently charging for parking.
C. San Jose Municipal
Stadium currently charges $6/car for the
adjacent parking lot. Street parking is available
on
10th St. and on Alma St. (Non-patrons parked in the Ice Center's
parking lot are subject to ticketing by SJPD.)
PLEASE NOTE: SJSU will
be holding its annual Graduation ceremonies at Spartan Stadium on Saturday
morning,
May 24; thus,
spectators for the first game of the CCS Finals should plan accordingly,
regarding the limited
parking situation in the
immediate vicinity around SJ Municipal Stadium just prior to that first contest.)

| General | Senior Citizen (60 & older) | Student (with HS ID) | Child (under 12, accompanied by an Adult) |

EQUIPMENT:
RAWLINGS
is the official CCS Tournament Baseball. ALL GAMES will be
played using a RAWLINGS baseball. A limited number of
sponsor game balls will be provided. When this supply is depleted, teams
must supply additional RAWLINGS baseballs, as needed.
GAME SUPERVISION:
All
teams must be accompanied by a coach designated by the school represented as an
official agent and employee of that school. No teams will be allowed to
participate without that supervision.
Adequate student and other-spectator supervision MUST be provided by each
school participating in the Tournament. School administrators/faculty who attend the
contest in this capacity should introduce themselves to the CCS Site Director, and tell him/her where they
will be located throughout the contest in case their assistance is needed. It is the
responsibility of the school supervisory personnel to prevent and correct any
inappropriate behavior of their students or spectators.
SPORTSMANSHIP: (For complete rules, see CCS Baseball Bylaws: Section 12.)
| A. | Each Principal
is
required by the CCS Board of Managers to meet with all individuals or
team(s) from his/her school prior to their participation in this CCS
Tournament to review CCS Sportsmanship Information. (See APPENDIX for REQUIRED PRE-GAME SPORTSMANSHIP MEETING INFORMATION SHEET) |
| B. | Coaches and Captains will attend a meeting with the Site Director and game officials 45 minutes prior to game-time, where they will be reminded of the importance of good sportsmanship and to make certain their Administrators have reviewed this information with their athletes in the past week. |
|
Any player or coach who is ejected from a CCS Tournament contest for FLAGRANT MISCONDUCT or UNSPORTSMANLIKE BEHAVIOR will be disqualified from all remaining contests in that sport that season. |
|
TOURNAMENT T-SHIRTS / HATS
/ PINS:
The CCS Tournament
T-Shirt
Order Form is included in the CCS Tournament Guide. Official CCS
T-Shirts ($12.00 per shirt), Participant Pins ($1.00 per pin) and Hats ($10.00 per hat) will be available at the
Seeding Meeting. While supplies last, T-shirts, pins, programs and hats will be on sale at
Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and Finals Tournament sites.
RADIO / TV LICENSING:
CCS owns the broadcast rights for all CCS Play-off contests.
Licensing is required. To ensure coordination of appropriate paperwork and
fees, interested media must contact the CCS Commissioner well before the
respective contest to be broadcast. No live TV broadcasts are
allowed.
IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL PARTICIPANTS AND
COACHES:
The CIF-Central
Coast Section is well aware that many other school and non-school activities (AP
tests, SAT/ACT tests, proms, plays, holidays, senior trips, religious days,
etc.) may occur during CCS Play-offs. The CCS tries to avoid as many
conflicts as possible; however, with so many activities available for today's
student-athlete, it is not reasonable to assume that all such activities can be
taken into account, and thus, CCS Play-off events will go on as originally
scheduled. Participants and coaches are therefore expected to plan in
advance for such possible scheduling conflicts and make those difficult choices
as to which events will take precedence for that individual. Generally,
although it is ultimately the personal choice of the student-athlete and/or
his/her parent(s), an academic activity should take precedence over an
extra-curricular event.
