The NFHS has developed a “tool kit” to assist their member schools to require or encourage parents to complete “The Role of the Parent in Sport” free online course developed in conjunction with the Institute for the Study of Youth Sport at Michigan State University. The “tool kit” can be viewed or downloaded in the “Locker Room” at www.nfhslearn.com/lockerroom.aspx.
The “tool kit” includes:
- an outline of the course to distribute to parents
- ideas to promote the course to parents
- directions for parents to register and access the course
- a ten questions parent/athlete assessment quiz and;
- a 30-second video that can be shown at preseason parent meetings to direct parents to the course.
It is recommended that all state association and school administrators access the “tool kit” and complete the course to become familiar with the content that is delivered. Promoting the course to member schools is as simple as adding a link to www.nfhslearn.com. Along with the “tool kit” graphic web links can be found in the Locker Room for promotional purposes. Simply link the graphics to www.nfhslearn.com! |
