To all Athletic Administrators, On behalf of the California Coaches Association I would like to welcome you to the 2014-15 athletic year and let you know about some new things in our organization.
I have attached membership forms for institutional and staff memberships, these are programs that allow either coaches or staffs to join and in addition get the Cal Coaches $1,000,000 liability policy. The Institutional memberships allow you to sign up your whole athletic staff, while the staff membership will allow individual sports to join if they want.
All of our membership programs are now available to join on line at www.calcoachesassociation.com. Also on the site are your section reps so you can contact them if you have questions or you can always email me.Hope you have a great athletic year.Dennis McClanahan

The NFHS has developed a “tool kit” to assist their member schools to require or encourage parents to complete “The Role of the Parent in Sport” free online course developed in conjunction with the Institute for the Study of Youth Sport at Michigan State University. The “tool kit” can be viewed or downloaded in the “Locker Room” at www.nfhslearn.com/lockerroom.aspx.
The “tool kit” includes:
an outline of the course to distribute to parents
ideas to promote the course to parents
directions for parents to register and access the course
a ten questions parent/athlete assessment quiz and;
a 30-second video that can be shown at preseason parent meetings to direct parents to the course.
It is recommended that all state association and school administrators access the “tool kit” and complete the course to become familiar with the content that is delivered. Promoting the course to member schools is as simple as adding a link to www.nfhslearn.com. Along with the “tool kit” graphic web links can be found in the Locker Room for promotional purposes. Simply link the graphics to www.nfhslearn.com!
ALL CCS Member Schools MUST input their school directory information and then begin using the new cifccshome.org program for transfer forms. Schools may either enter their schedules and results directly into cifccshome OR enter them on maxpreps.com and those results can be downloaded into cifccshome.
