Willow Glen won the title as four teams competed in the first Central Coast Section 
Field Hockey Championships held at Burlingame High School

1977
The competition expanded to eight schools,
with Homestead taking the title over Gilroy.

1978
Nine teams competed in the single elimination tournament.

1979
Eight schools entered the Field Hockey competition.
The single elimination format was retained.

The format remained the same.  Eight schools competed in

Lynbrook won its third straight title.

The format remained the same.  Six schools competed in a 
single elimination tournament.

1984
Six schools entered the tournament, with two drawing byes in the
first round.

1985
Six schools competed in a single elimination tournament, with two drawing
first-round byes.  Lynbrook repeated as champion.

1986
The format remained the same.  Six schools competed in a single elimination tournament,
with two drawing first-round byes.  Lynbrook was the winner for the third consecutive year.

1987    
The format remained the same.  Six schools competed in a single-elimination tournament,
with two drawing first-round byes.

1988    
The format remained the same.  Six schools competed in a single elimination
tournament, with two drawing first-round byes

1989    
Eight teams entered the competition.  Branham became the first West Valley League
team to take the championship with a 2-1 win over Lynbrook.

1990    
The field remained at eight schools.

1991    
The size of the field and the format of the competition remained unchanged.

1992    
The field hockey competition continued with eight teams and the same format.

1993    
The format of the tournament remained the same.

1994       
The format remained the same.  A tie after two overtimes between Los Altos and
Lynbrook created the first co-champions.

FINAL:
Los Altos and Lynbrook declared co-champions.  Tied 0-0 after 2 overtimes.

1995
The competition's format remained unchanged.

1996    Playoff Brackets
The format of the tournament remained the same.

1997    Playoff Brackets
The field was expanded from eight to ten teams. The MBL changed seasons and 
joined the rest of the CCS in playing in the Fall.  This qualified them to enter the 
CCS Championships for the first time in Field Hockey history.

Live Oak defeated Cupertino, 4-0
Willow Glen defeated Monterey, 3-0

FINAL:
Lynbrook defeated Los Gatos, 1-0

1998    Playoff Bracket
The field remained at 10 teams.  Los Gatos reversed the previous year's result, 
beating Lynbrook, 2-0 for the championship.
