Transfer Forms

CCS TRANSFER STUDENT WORKSHEET--use this to assess the status of any transfer student to your school

In order to provide you with more options and ease of application completion, use one of our specialized 207, 209, 510 forms below:

  • #'s 1-8 are transfer forms for students transferring from a school located within the U.S. (or Canada)

  • #'s 10-13 are transfer forms for students transferring from a school located in a foreign country.

Must be completed if the student has changed schools no later than the beginning of the school year following a FULL, VALID FAMILY CHANGE OF RESIDENCE. CIF BYLAW 206: Instructions for completing this form

  • 207 ARE FORMS FOR STUDENTS TRANSFERRING FROM A SCHOOL LOCATED WITHIN THE UNITED STATES OR CANADA.

2011-2012 CIF Transfer Applications

The following 207 and 209 510 Forms are required for ANY student who changes schools and has not made a full family valid change of residence as described above and in CIF Bylaw 206.

NON DISCIPLINARY TRANSFERS ONLY: #'s 1-7 and 10-13 Below!

Disciplinary Transfers # 8 & 9

USE THE FORM LINKED BELOW THAT BEST DESCRIBES THE CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE STUDENT TRANSFERRING TO YOUR SCHOOL IF THE STUDENT IS NOT TRANSFERRING WITH ANY DISCIPLINARY ACTION THAT HAS BEEN TAKEN OR IS PENDING OR WHICH CAUSED THE NENED FOR THE TRANSFER:

1.

The student has never transferred schools before and is transferring to new school no later than the beginning of the third semester of their high school enrollment (at the beginning of sophomore year-never transferred before)....

AND is NOT transferring with any disciplinary action that has been taken or is pending at the previous school.

2.

Limited, sub-varsity 

The student has played sports at some level (freshman or fr/soph or JV or varsity) at their former school(s) in the twelve months before their transfer, but they wish to either play a different sport at the new school or only play at the sub varsity level at the new school for the twelve months following their transfer to the new school....

AND is NOT transferring with any disciplinary action that has been taken or is pending at the previous school.

3.

NO previous sports at any level!

The student has NOT PLAYED ANY SPORTS AT ANY LEVEL (freshman or fr/soph or JV or varsity) at any school(s) in the twelve months before their transfer and wishes to play at sports at the new school....

AND is NOT transferring with any disciplinary action that has been taken or is pending at the previous school.

4.

Boarding School Transfers

The Student is transferring for the first time to the status of a 24-hour boarder in a boarding school
who HAS PLAYED SPORTS in the last twelve months ..

AND is NOT transferring with any disciplinary action that has been taken or is pending at the previous school.


----All other boarding school transfers WHO HAVE PLAYED SPORTS in the last twelve months, must use 207 and apply for a hardship (208))
---Boarding Students who HAVE NOT PLAYED SPORTS in the last twelve months should use form #3 above.

5.

Hardship

The student has played sports in the twelve months before this transfer at some level (freshman or fr/soph or JV or varsity) at any school(s) and wants to apply for an exception to the CIF Transfer Rule in order to play that same sport(s) at the varsity level at the new school in the twelve months following the transfer and has changed schools solely and directly because of hardship reasons as defined by CIF in CIF Bylaw 208.......

AND is NOT transferring with any disciplinary action that has been taken or is pending at the previous school.

6.

A-B-A, no sports at B

The student left School A, transferred to School B, but did not play any sports at any level (freshman, or fr/soph or JV or varsity) while at School B and is now returning to School A

AND is NOT transferring with any disciplinary action that has been taken or is pending at either school.

7.

A-B-A PLAYED SPORTS @ B

The student left School A, transferred to School B, but PLAYED SPORTS WHILE AT SCHOOL B at some level (freshman or fr/soph or JV or varsity) and is returning to school A

AND is NOT transferring as a result of any disciplinary action that has been taken or was pending at either school

8.

Discipline with contract

The student left School A as a result of a disciplinary situation, but had a disciplinary/behavioral contract in writing that meets all of the requirements of CIF 210.C.2. prior to transferring to school B. Did not play any sports while at School B and now, as a result of fulfilling the requirements imposed in the Behavior Contract by School A is transferring BACK to School A as a student in good standing.

9.

ALL OTHER DISCIPLINARY TRANSFERS ARE INELIGIBLE FOR TWELVE MONTHS IN ALL SPORTS AT ALL LEVELS--See CIF Bylaw 210.
Disciplinary transfers are described as any transfer which has been caused by a disciplinary situation. If a parent chooses to withdraw their student prior to any disciplinary action being taken, or after action has been taken because the parents are dissatisfied with the disciplinary action of the school, both of those count as a disciplinary transfer. If a discipline situation exists at the former school at the time of the transfer, no matter what else is going on, it will be considered a disciplinary transfer and will not be granted an exception to the Transfer Rule. Disciplinary situations in the home or outside of school are sometimes also considered disclipinary transfers, depending upon the relevancy to the transfer that the Commissioner determines.

10.

Foreign transfer in a CIF approved foreign exchange program

The student is transferring to a CCS-member school from a school located outside the United States under the auspices of a CIF approved foreign exchange program....

AND who has not graduated from high school in their own country or exceed 12 years of schooling prior to this transfer.

11.

Transfers coming back to their same CCS member school from being enrolled in a foreign exchange program school.

This student is transferrring from School A to School B and Back to School A when School B is in a foreign country under the auspices of a foreign exchange program and A is a CCS member school

12.

Transfers from a school located outisde of the United States (Foreign transfers,)
NOT in any foreign exchange program

1.F

The student is a transfer from a school located in a foreign country;
is NOT enrolled in a CIF approved foreign exchange program;
HAS played sport(s) representing a club or school team in the last twelve months;
AND who wishes to play that same sport(s) at the varsity level at the school to which they are transferring ;
AND who have HARDSHIP CIRCUMSTANCES that have caused the transfer to the CCS member school. CLICK HERE

2.F.

The student is a transfer from a school located in a foreign country;
is NOT enrolled in a CIF approved foreign exchange program:
HAS played sport(s) representing a club or school team in the last twelve months;
AND who wishes to play that same sport at the junior varsity level at the CCS member school to which they are transferring

3.F.

The student is a transfer from a school located in a foreign country;
is NOT enrolled in a CIF approved foreign exchange program;
HAS NOT played sports representing a club or school team in the last twelve months;
AND who wishes to play at the CCS member school to which they are transferring CLICK HERE
(Apply for LIMITED ELIGIBLITY--since the student has not played anything, there will not be any limits on the level or sports in which they are eligible to participate).

4.F.

The student is a transfer from a school located in a foreign country;
was NOT enrolled in a foreign exchange program;
is RETURNING TO THEIR FORMER SCHOOL (A-B-A) after attending school B in a foreign country;
and who wishes to play again at their former school to which they are now transferring back AND'
who may or may not have played sports at A or B . CLICK HERE

13.

Foreign transfer, boarding

The student is a transfer from a school located in a foreign countr;
is transferring for the first time to or from the status of a 24 hour boarding student

AND is NOT transferring with any disciplinary action that has been taken or is pending at their former school.
